the start
as a teenager, I was glued to youtube makeup tutorials. there was something so satisfying about watching a whole look come together: the final swipe of mascara, the last flick of liner… and then the lashes.
but if you’re anything like me, that last step never felt as effortless as it looked online.
the problem
I tried everything - the store-bought lashes, the “natural” labelled ones, even the minimal styles that promised subtlety. but on my eyes? they still looked obvious, felt heavy, and far from natural.
I’d follow every tutorial perfectly, yet the lashes always looked so wrong… and I looked so wrong. it felt like wearing someone else’s face.
the realisation
